A journey to the hidden paradise of Haiti's north coast. We designed a safari-style, tented camp on a 150 acre private beach cove to serve an extraordinary ecosystem and group of mountain villages only accessible by boat and foot. It is a cultural immersion unlike any, led by our incredible host, Dillon Mangs, whose family has lived in Labadie since the 70's. Their relationships in the village unlock something singular.
The experience is as much about adventure and discovery as it about respite and a family formed in the jungle. We offset the carbon footprint of all trips with Terrapass and invest the dues of our member community and contributions made by travelers in three partners driving solutions for artisan entrepreneurship, access to quality education, and eco-sanitation solutions.

Dillon Mangs
His epic parents built a home in Labadie in 1977 and are beloved in the community. He grew up fishing with the locals and playing soccer with the village kids.
Junot Remy
Junot is our camp manager, a member of Port Francais village, and a guy as sweet as Haitian mango. He leads our community visits and impact work in the village.

Lisa Mangs
Lisa has been coming to Haiti ever since she started making out with Dillon. She's an entire ocean of joy and leads the team of women who run our camp like a family hotel.
Flannery Klette-Kolton
An award-winning NYC chef and winner of Chopped whose menu is lush, local and crazy delicious, tailored to any dietary needs and presented in a way that only Flannery can.

Itinerary
Our journeys are inspired by the experiential blueprint of safaris, which is a beautiful balance of adventure, respite and surprise. Below is a frame for our journey which takes final shape with the unique happenings of each specific week. As with all Kin trips, we encourage you to join all that inspires you and opt-out of whatever you'd like to have a Swiss Family Robinson hideaway all to yourself.
LABADIE, HAITI
Location
A big part of our purpose in Haiti is to act as an alter for her natural and cultural beauty. Our trip takes place on the north coast which is largely only accessible by boat and foot. You'll land in Cap-Haitien, the second largest city in Haiti, and venture 30 minutes by car to Labadie and 30 minutes by boat to Kay Moy, our private 150 acre, Jurassic Park hideaway.

ECO-FRIENDLY, MODERN, CURATED
Accommodations
Your room is a gorgeous 16' bell-tent with either a queen or two twin beds, memory foam mattress, fine linens, lounge chairs, furnishings by local artisans and swag from our local, social enterprise partner Haiti Design Co. You'll wake to the ocean lapping on the beach just steps from your door, birds chirping and see sailboats and kayaks paddling in at sunrise with honey, lobster, mangos and treasures from locals bringing finds for Dillon and Flannery.
The rest of camp is a Swiss Family Robinson dream: a main tent with a beautiful lounge and driftwood bar, a giant family dining table beneath an almond tree, a jungle kitchen, jungle shower, candle-lit bathroom, fire pit, and yoga space / dance floor.
FRESH, TROPICAL, BANGIN'
Food and Drink
Our chef Flannery is a boss, an accomplished New York chef who's fallen in love with Haiti and pushed fare from local markets to a level that has us excited for every meal. She accommodates for all dietary needs and is who you want to sit next to by the fire if you want to laugh until you cry.
Our bar is an open one and your host will shake up ice-cold cocktails on the daily with speeches to go with 'em.
